Erika & Luke - 13th October 2018 - Tangaratta Vineyards

You would think most love stories start with 'It was love at first sight....' Well not with this couple! It took Erika a little while to realise she had met her Prince Charming, Luke! After a blind double date 12 months after their first meeting, Erika was finally hit by the love stick and fell head over heels in love with Luke. 

After a romanic evening at Goonoo Goonoo Station the two found themselves strolling down the path to the homestead babbling about god alone knows when Erika realised she was walking alone. She looked back to find Luke down on one knee with the ring box at the ready. Luke asked for Erika to take his hand in marriage and after hysterically crying with love and excitement, Erika finally said 'Yes!'. 

Luke and Erika both agreed when planning the wedding they wanted a big party, something that reflected them as a couple. They wanted their guest to have the time of their lives, with food and a vibe that represented them. They fell in love with a local Tamworth venue Tangaratta Vineyards. It was a blank canvas where they could create an space tailed to them, and that is exactly what they did. Erika & Luke decided early on they wanted to take a hands on approach to their wedding styling and chose our DIY Hire option. 

​With Erika working in the wedding industry as a Make Up Artist for the last 5 years, she found selecting her vendors a breeze. Erika and Luke chose their vendors based on who she loved working with, and who she knew would deliver perfection in their field. An insiders eye certainly helped Erika and Luke nail their vendor selections, which is so important in planning your wedding day. 

The one thing Erika and Luke wish they knew before planning their big day is that it doesn't take forever to plan a wedding! 'Why wait?!' was their thought and jumped straight into wedding planning mode. The only wish they had is that they had done it sooner. 

​The best piece of advice Erika & Luke have for any further brides and grooms is to think about where you are investing your money. Considering the items that you may buy for your wedding day and never have a use for again is a great place to start. One example of this is Erika and Luke invested in a personalised family sign 'The Hillenbergs - Established 2018' which took pride of place on their bridal table. The sign now is a beautiful feature in their home, but also reminds them of the day they committed their lives to each other in front of family and friends.
